Tottenham signs Kirsty Hanson after outstanding performance with Aston Villa

Tottenham have announced the signing of Scotland striker Kirsty Hanson from Aston Villa following the player's outstanding performance in the 2025-26 Women's Super League season. Hanson made 22 appearances for Villa and scored 12 goals, making her the first double-figure scorer in a single season. Hanson's goals total last season was surpassed only by Manchester City's Khadija Shaw (21) and Arsenal's Alessia Russo (13). Her former team, Aston Villa, finished ninth in the table, 11 points clear of bottom-of-the-table Leicester City. Hanson, 28, said after signing a long-term contract with Spurs that she was delighted and excited to be part of the club's progress.
