Notts County extends Luis Macari's contract for one year, with option to extend for a further 12 months.

Notts County have announced the contract extension of 24-year-old defender Luis Macari for another year, with an option to extend his contract for a further 12 months at the club's side. After the team was promoted to League One in the new season. Macari has made more than 100 appearances for Notts County since first joining on loan from Stoke City in 2023. He made 40 appearances last season, but suffered a serious leg injury in late April. This caused him to miss out on participating in the play-off battle for promotion from League Two. In the final at Wembley Stadium, Makari was in the stands with crutches. As teammates helped Notts County beat Salford City 3-0, unlocking an 11-year wait for a return to League One. This contract extension gives Notts County an important defender to remain with the team. The aim going forward is to restore Makari's fitness for the new season as a League One newcomer.
