Napoli confirmed to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as manager for 3 years, replacing Antonio Conte.

Napoli confirm appointment Massimiliano Allegri has officially taken over as new head coach on a three-year contract until June 2029, closing the deal as the top candidate for some time to succeed Antonio Conte. Conte led Napoli to the 2024-25 Scudetto, before leading them to a runner-up finish last season, amassing 76 points - the fewest totals of any team he has managed in Serie A during his career. The club will be looking for a new head coach after they part ways at the end of the 2025-26 season. Allegri was immediately placed as first choice. After parting ways with AC Milan due to the team's failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the Rossoneri ended the season in 5th place, trailing 4th place team Como by just 1 point, causing the team's second stint at San Siro to end after one year, even though they collected 70 points, the club's highest record, which was still not enough to finish in the top four (calculating the 3-point win era). According to the Expected Points Model, Milan should finish in 4th place and exceed expectation by +7.3 points (70 points to 62.7), with only Inter, Roma and Napoli exceeding expectations more than expected in the same season. Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has previously given clear signals that the team wants continuity in selecting a new head coach. And the club recently announced that Allegri has officially been appointed at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona under contract until 2029. Throughout his managerial career, Allegri won 14 championships, divided into 2 with Milan and 12 with Juventus. He once led Milan to win the Scudetto in the 2010-11 season before leading Juventus to win the league 5 times in a row. Ready to win the Coppa Italia 5 times, one of which happened in the 2023-24 season during the second round of managing the team. Napoli's opening fixture for the 2026-27 season is away to Genoa, followed by tough battles with Como under Cesc Fabregas and reigning champions Inter. --- ## Related Articles 1.
